Farm animal nutrition company Denis Brinicombe Group has appointed two new key personnel to assist with its growing UK trade. The Devon-based family-owned business manufactures and supplies feed and animal health products both to merchants and on-farm across the UK, with an annual turnover in excess of £10 million.

Following the acquisition of Zintec Agri in 2013, Denis Brinicombe Group has appointed Eddie Wells as UK sales manager for the Zintec range of nutrition products. With 30 years’ experience in agriculture and horticulture, Eddie previously worked in nutrition sales across Scotland before setting up his own independent business.

“Little did I know that Keith Greig (managing director of Denis Brinicombe Group) was keeping an eye on me,” he says. “My main focus now is to build a professional and trained team of farm sales specialists to drive on-farm business. It’s a very hands-on job, talking to farmers about the technical attributes of the products, so I’m looking for people who have experience with ruminant livestock and a passion for the industry.”

With the business steadily expanding, Denis Brinicombe Group has created a new position of Group human resources manager, which has been filled by Richard Boggis. After more than 30 years working in the HR sector, Richard moved to Cornwall looking for a new challenge, and is now working out of the Crediton office.

“I was looking for a business that I could really make an impression on, and branching into the agricultural industry really interested me,” he says. “Good HR management is all about adding value, supporting managers and being proactive. A happy, well-trained and enthusiastic workforce are the lynchpin of a successful business, and that’s what we’re all striving to achieve.”

Keith Greig, managing director of Denis Brinicombe Group, says he is keen to invest in the firm’s staff to help the business to thrive and grow in the future. “While we are always looking to improve and develop our products, an exceptionally important part of our business is customer support and service levels, and these two new appointments demonstrate this,” he adds. “For more than 40 years we’ve been supplying quality nutrition products and are committed to serving the industry for a long time to come.”
